It all began when I and a sizable group of people went to see The Hunger Games on Friday night.

Uh, quick disclaimer, I have never read THG, and this movie did not inspire me to read THG. I will probably never read THG, as my soul has been corrupted by a semester’s worth of Russian literature. Anyway.

So, The Hunger Games. Good movie, I guess. I mean, I’m not into dystopian-battle-royale-y fiction, but I can see the appeal. And I liked that the movie focused less on the “love triangle” than the ads did.

BUT

Those costumes. Those sets. ALL OF MY BONERS.

I am infinitely more fascinated by the technical aspects of film and television than I am by the actual content onscreen. So the whole time I was just like SHAKY CAM LOOK AT THOSE WIGS OH MY GOD KATNISS IS ON FIRE LITERALLY UGH THAT DRESS JESUS CHRIST THIS CAPITAL CITY SET HOMFG BONERRRRRRRRRRRR

Yup.

Next day, I went to see some kid’s senior thesis, a student-written and -produced musical about the fall of the Romanov family.

Quick bit of backstory - there’s this boy in the choir I am with, whose name is David (laugh it up Awawa) and who has a very lovely voice. Also a really really nice ass. Anyway, I have this total talent crush on him because last year I saw him as Bobby in Company and he was fucking awesome.

So David is playing Rasputin RAH RAH RASPUTIN RUSSIA’S GREATEST LOVE MACHINE and he was awesome, as I expected. Funny and slimy and creepy and ufa;sdhlgfasdkf;ajdsf still so hot though. Best line: “I just help young women submit. ………..to God.”

But then at the end of the play, they had to kill him off. So I was treated to the sight of this beautiful boy crawling off the stage in pain. Like, dragging himself along the ground, making all sorts of… noises. And then I was like WHY BONER and my boner was like BECAUSE FUCK YOU THAT’S WHY

Mmhmm.

And TODAY my TARDIS costume shoes arrived! Costume is complete! Expect pictures later.

Awawa is a little out of commission - dead laptop, sick, fucktons of homework, etc. - so I’m gonna helm this ship for a bit. Gonna get a queue all lined up, because I know you all love to read my extremely intelligent and thought-provoking blog posts.

First look at TARDIS cosplay for Anime Boston! My grandma constructed it for me and I am SOOO PLEASED WITH HOW IT LOOKS and so tomorrow she and I are going to the craft store and we’re going to make ACCESSORIES!

I’m thinking:

• black belt/sash (I actually just found one in my closet so check)
• Necklace that says “POLICE PUBLIC CALL BOX”
• Some sort of fabric bracelets for the windows
• Little fascinator that looks like the top light

I also need to get blue tights and blue converse.

But YAAAAY THE DRESS IS DONE!!!! It fitsawesomelyand I may actually wear it in a non-convention setting.

Personal news? Uh… I’m auditioning for Sweeney Todd in about a month. That’s personal, right?

Except I’m pretty nervous because the company I’m auditioning for is a little politicky, I think. So we’ll see how that turns out.
